Connection Test
Attempts to establish a connection to each proxy server at the specified IP and port. A failed connection means the proxy is offline or the port is closed.

Latency Measurement
Response time is measured from connection initiation to the first response received. Lower latency means faster page loads through that proxy.

Anonymity Classification
Elite — hides that you are using a proxy and conceals your real IP. Anonymous — reveals it is a proxy but hides your IP. Transparent — exposes both proxy use and your real IP.

What is the difference between elite, anonymous, and transparent proxies?+
Elite (high-anonymity) proxies do not send identifying headers — the target server cannot detect a proxy is being used. Anonymous proxies reveal they are proxies but hide your real IP. Transparent proxies pass your real IP in X-Forwarded-For headers, providing no privacy. For maximum anonymity, only elite proxies should be used.
Why does a proxy fail even though I can connect to it elsewhere?+
Browser-based proxy checking is limited by CORS security policies. A proxy may be technically reachable but refuse browser-initiated connections, require authentication, or only accept specific traffic types. For definitive results, test proxies using command-line tools like curl with the –proxy flag.
What is a good response time for a proxy?+
Under 300ms is excellent. 300–800ms is acceptable for general browsing. 800ms–2000ms is slow but usable. Over 2000ms is impractical for regular use and unsuitable for streaming. Geographic distance between you and the proxy server is the primary factor affecting latency.
Where do I get proxy addresses to test?+
Free proxy lists are published on sites like free-proxy-list.net and proxyscrape.com. These lists change constantly — proxies that worked an hour ago may be dead now.
